The Liberty vacant lot needs a community garden - Jasmine's neighborhood project
A community-led a community garden at the Liberty vacant lot that will serve 135 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 135 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
• Permits and inspections: $50
