Mukono
My family left Somalia 14 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Mukono. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in November. I was a pharmacist in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $500 goes: • Beds, table and basic furniture: $160 • Rent deposit and first month: $195 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $95 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $50 Thanks for being kind about this.

Sending love, Evans. Looking forward to the next update. Take care.

      • Rooting for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Kathmandu.

        • Hang in there, Evans. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings.
