The Cedar vacant lot needs a covered market stall space - Nkechi's neighborhood project

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 578 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $400 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Materials: $310 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 Thanks for reading all this. - Nkechi
