Tenant-rights advice for Riku in Tokyo: a short consultation
A brief consultation with a housing advisor would help Riku understand their rights.

My landlord in Tokyo has given me a 40% rent increase with a 30-day notice. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in Tokyo could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in Tokyo would also be appreciated.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Keep going, Riku. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Love from Thessaloniki.
Hope things get better soon, Riku. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Gondar.
So sorry you're going through this, Riku. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Love from Sylhet.
