Tariq received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
A car accident left Tariq short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 4 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $200.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $200 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $120
• Late fees and court costs: $50
• Utilities in arrears: $30
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tariq.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. first month of rent as a buffer comes first ($120) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
Hope things get better soon, Tariq. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Kumasi
good luck, Tariq. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
sending strength, Tariq. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Cairo
