Sylvie's final semester of a degree in social work in Saint-Denis

Sylvie is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Saint-Denis State College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,150. The registrar has said Sylvie can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Sylvie has a 3.8 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Sylvie would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
