Craig was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in August. The surgeon at East London Community Hospital recommended a partial thyroidectomy, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,050, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,550 short.
my father has been in and out of East London Community Hospital since August. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without a partial thyroidectomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,050 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Craig struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Craig won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
