Tuition fund for Carmela: a degree in civil engineering at Makati State College

Carmela is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Makati State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $900. The registrar has said Carmela can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Carmela has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Carmela would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Carmela isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $900 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $580 • Final term tuition: $260 • Exam and lab fees: $20 • Textbooks and materials: $40 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Remedios
