Galle
Suranga is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a teaching qualification at Galle University, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $500. The registrar has said Suranga can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Suranga has a top-ten-percent average, and an academic advisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Suranga would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Suranga isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Galle University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $500 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $60 • Final term tuition: $430 • Exam and lab fees: $10 Glad we found this place.
