Sunita received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
After the loss of a second income, Sunita is 5 months behind on rent and has a 10-day notice to quit from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in April, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $500.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by August, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working evenings as a cleaner, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $300
• Late fees and court costs: $50
• Utilities in arrears: $35
• First month of rent as a buffer: $115
Glad we found this place.

Wishing you peace, Sunita. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from San Nicolás de los Garza.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Love from Wellington.
stay strong. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I have a 7 year old who wants to send good wishes too
Thanks for sharing this, Sunita. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too
Stay strong, Sunita. This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Envigado.
