Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Larissa's family in Campinas
The closure of the factory left Larissa short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 10 weeks, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Friday a final eviction notice was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $800.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by February, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $800 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $90
• Rent arrears (5 months): $530
• First month of rent as a buffer: $180

Good luck, Larissa. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I have a 6 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Campinas.
Take care, Larissa. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in Bucaramanga but we're thinking of you. All the best
Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Ribeirão Preto so I could bring a meal
Wishing you the best. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
