Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Folake's family in Ikeja
After a delayed insurance payout, Folake is 3 months behind on rent and has a termination letter from the landlord.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $400.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by October, we must leave.
I've 3 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $400 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $75
• Late fees and court costs: $35
• Rent arrears (3 months): $290
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
