Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Aparecida's family in Rio de Janeiro
The loss of a second income left Aparecida short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,150.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, we must leave.
I've 4 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $840
• Late fees and court costs: $85
• Utilities in arrears: $80
• First month of rent as a buffer: $145
Thanks for being kind about this.

Rooting for you, Aparecida. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope June is when things finally get easier. All the best.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Don't give up. Thinking of Rio de Janeiro.
Praying for you. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
