Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Ana's family in Buenos Aires
A sudden layoff left Ana short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.

After a car accident that kept me from work for 5 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $550.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working night deliveries, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $550 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $40
• Late fees and court costs: $65
• Rent arrears (3 months): $445
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

thinking of you and your family, Ana. Shared this with my family. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like!
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ana
Sure. The biggest one is utilities in arrears, $40. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Regensburg this morning.

I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Take care.

You're not alone. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Newcastle.
