Stop the eviction: 2 months of rent for Stavros's family in Piraeus
A 10-day notice to quit arrived last week. Stavros needs $400 to clear the arrears and stay housed in Piraeus.

When my hours were cut in half in February, Stavros fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Friday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $400.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by April, the family must leave.
There are two young children at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Stavros has started working extra hours at a market stall, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $400 goes:
• Late fees and court costs: $100
• Utilities in arrears: $55
• First month of rent as a buffer: $245

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Stavros.
Sure. The biggest one is late fees and court costs, $100. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
