A service dog for Wangari, an engineering corps veteran in Nakuru
After eight years of service, Wangari is raising funds for a vocational welding course and tools.

I served eight years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2024 with a service-related knee injury. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $900.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $900 goes:
• Training provider fees: $530
• Housing deposit and first month: $270
• Transport to appointments: $60
• Essential household items: $40
Thank you so much.

3% there. I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this, Wangari. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out
hang in there, Wangari. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 11 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Nakuru
Hope things get better soon. This could happen to any of us. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Nakuru.
