Start-up fund for Stephanie: reopening a street-food cart after floodwater
A street-food cart in Aurora needs help replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators after floodwater.
🇺🇸 Illinois, United States1,353 views
For four years I have run a street-food cart in Aurora. In July, floodwater took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 4 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,750 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $480
• Initial stock: ingredients: $820
• Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $2,450
I hope life is good to you.

Wishing you the best. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Ottawa.
best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 27 people at work.
Keep going, Stephanie. Hope the shop reopens soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
Thanks for sharing this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Reims.
