Start-up fund for Sayali: reopening a sewing studio after a long illness and repossession
Sayali has run a sewing studio for fifteen years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $550 will put it back on its feet.

For fifteen years I have run a sewing studio in Hyderabad. In January, a long illness and repossession took a cutting table and overlocker. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $550 goes:
• Replacing a cutting table and overlocker: $410
• Initial stock: fabric: $60
• Shop repairs and licensing: $35
• Working capital for the first month: $45
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Sending love, Sayali. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Gliwice.
