Start-up fund for Salma: reopening a street-food cart after floodwater
Salma has run a street-food cart for nine years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $500 will put it back on its feet.

For nine years I have run a street-food cart in Alexandria. In June, floodwater took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $500 goes:
• Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $310
• Initial stock: ingredients: $50
• Shop repairs and licensing: $95
• Working capital for the first month: $45
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Sending strength. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Rohini
