Start-up fund for Joseph: reopening a street-food cart after a long illness and repossession
Joseph has run a street-food cart for six years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $600 will put it back on its feet.

For six years I have run a street-food cart in Naivasha. In March, a long illness and repossession took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $600 goes:
• Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $320
• Initial stock: ingredients: $115
• Shop repairs and licensing: $80
• Working capital for the first month: $85
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Wishing you the best. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from San Diego.
Thanks for sharing this. Small businesses are the heart of Naivasha. Hope you're open again soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless
Keep going, Joseph. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Bengaluru donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Naivasha
Sending love, Joseph. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless.
