Start-up fund for Anne: reopening a barbershop after a fire in the building
A barbershop in Amsterdam needs help replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors after a fire in the building.
🇳🇱 Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands1,210 views
For four years I have run a barbershop in Amsterdam. In May, a fire in the building took clippers, chairs and mirrors. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Replacing clippers, chairs and mirrors: $1,450
• Shop repairs and licensing: $400
• Initial stock: supplies: $450
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

sending good thoughts, Anne. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings
Thanks for sharing this, Anne. It takes guts to ask. Well done. All the best
Hope things get better soon. Hope the shop reopens soon. After 27 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
hope it all works out, Anne. Shared this with my family.
