Knoxville
For twelve years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Knoxville. In August, a break-in took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go. Where the $2,750 goes: • Replacing a full set of tools: $1,050 • Initial stock: spare parts: $800 • Shop repairs and licensing: $630 • Working capital for the first month: $270 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Amparo

Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Durban so I could bring a meal. Take care.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Amparo

      • Amparo W. GómezOwnerAnswer

Replacing a full set of tools is $1,050 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Amparo?

        • Amparo W. GómezOwnerAnswer

Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about replacing a full set of tools, advice is welcome too. Fair thing to want to know.
