A skate park for Jacaranda Primary School: help our neighbors in El Paso
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $2,200 for materials.
🇺🇸 El Paso, Texas, United States1,950 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,200.
It will serve about 115 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,200 goes:
• Materials: $1,250
• Permits and inspections: $140
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $470
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
