Standing with Kevin: stage 3 ovarian cancer treatment costs

Kevin was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in April. The oncology team at Soweto Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Kevin is 56, worked as a primary school teacher until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Soweto Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200
• Scans and lab work: $230
• Transport to Soweto Cancer Centre: $190
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $170
• Household costs while unable to work: $510
