Kennedy was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in June. The oncology team at Flint University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Kennedy is 45, worked as a bus conductor until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Flint University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Transport to Flint University Hospital: $950
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $700
• Scans and lab work: $1,750
