Standing with Jorge: cervical cancer treatment costs
Jorge is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Jorge was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August. The oncology team at the San Diego Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Jorge is 26, worked as a shop owner until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the San Diego Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• Transport to the San Diego Oncology Institute: $430
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $330
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,200
• Scans and lab work: $640
