Joaquín was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in October. The oncology team at Warren Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Joaquín is 49, worked as a farmer until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Warren Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $8,350 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,300 • Scans and lab work: $1,150 • Transport to Warren Cancer Centre: $890 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $600 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,410 If you're reading this, thank you. - Beatriz
