Richards Bay
Imran was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August. The oncology team at the Richards Bay Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Imran is 26, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Richards Bay Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,900 goes: • Transport to the Richards Bay Oncology Institute: $170 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,100 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $220 • Scans and lab work: $410 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Emily

  • Is transport to the Richards Bay Oncology Institute the biggest cost or is there more coming?

    • Emily PetersenOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is transport to the Richards Bay Oncology Institute, $170. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.

  • Good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to San Diego so I could bring a meal. God bless.
