Standing with Fernando: early-stage lung cancer treatment costs

Fernando was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in August. The oncology team at Rio de Janeiro Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Fernando is 56, worked as a farmer until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Rio de Janeiro Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
