Standing with Basma: stage 2 breast cancer treatment costs

Basma was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in July. The oncology team at Cairo University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Basma is 47, worked as a bus conductor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Cairo University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
