For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,250. It will serve about 211 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,250 goes: • Materials: $1,650 • Permits and inspections: $270 • Safety equipment and signage: $200 • Tools hire and delivery: $130 If you're reading this, thank you. - Lucía
