Standing with Ana: colon cancer treatment costs

Ana is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In August I was diagnosed with colon cancer. My oncology team at the Warren Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 5 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 30, I worked as a farmer until August, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to the Warren Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $11,650 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,000 • Scans and lab work: $1,550 • Transport to the Warren Oncology Institute: $1,100 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $580 • Household costs while unable to work: $2,420 Thank you for reading my story. - Ana

  • Thinking of you and your family. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless
