Sota lives with multiple sclerosis. The occupational therapist at the Tokyo Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $450. His current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment Sota could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $450 goes: • First-year servicing plan: $270 • Fitting and training sessions: $90 • Delivery and set-up: $90 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Ayumi

  1. Small update. $230 so far, I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($105 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Thanks for sharing this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Ubud but we're thinking of you. All the best.
