I live with a rare neuromuscular condition. My occupational therapist at the Palermo Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,650. My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $4,650 goes: • specialist standing frame: $4,100 • Fitting and training sessions: $220 • Delivery and set-up: $140 • First-year servicing plan: $190 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
