I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Quetta Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $100. My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $100 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $15 • Fitting and training sessions: $40 • First-year servicing plan: $45 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
