Save Simba: Araceli can't afford the emergency vet
Simba, Araceli's German shepherd, needs urgent treatment for a foreign object blocking the intestines costing $2,650.

Simba is my German shepherd of nine years. On 10 March we rushed to San Diego Animal Hospital with a foreign object blocking the intestines. The vet recommends a hospital stay and surgery, and the estimate came to $2,650.
They have stabilized Simba, but the treatment can't wait beyond May.
Simba is more than a pet - Simba is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $115 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to San Diego Animal Hospital's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Emergency surgery: $1,850
• Hospitalization (4 nights): $300
• Medication and follow-up visits: $170
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $330
