Rides to dialysis three times a week for Marcos in Irapuato

A rota of drivers to Irapuato General Hospital would keep Marcos on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Irapuato
Marcos has been on dialysis for 3 years and until recently drove to Irapuato General Hospital alone. After a minor stroke, Marcos can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 35 km each way. Marcos is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Thank you for reading my story.

  • Good luck, Eduardo. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Riverside so I could bring a meal. All the best

    • Wishing you peace. This could happen to any of us. Thinking of Irapuato

      • Good luck, Eduardo. Hope the doctors have good news. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.

        • Keep going, Eduardo. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Dwarka.
