The water account is 4 months behind. Mai received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on July unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in April. Mai called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $15 first, which isn't available. The household includes two young children, and going through winter without water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
