Rides to dialysis three times a week for Emiliano in Oakland

A rota of drivers to the Oakland Dialysis Unit would keep Emiliano on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.

Emiliano has been on dialysis for 1 years and until recently drove to the Oakland Dialysis Unit alone. After surgery on their hand, Emiliano can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 18 km each way. Emiliano is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
