Rides to dialysis three times a week for Dumisani in Soweto
Dumisani needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.
🇿🇦 Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa530 views
Dumisani has been on dialysis for 4 years and until recently drove to the Soweto Dialysis Unit alone. After an eyesight problem, Dumisani can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 20 km each way.
Dumisani is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
I hope life is good to you.

Stay strong, Gareth. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
