Rides to dialysis three times a week for Chamara in Dehiwala
A rota of drivers to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center would keep Chamara on treatment. Even one trip a week helps.
🇱🇰 Dehiwala, Western, Sri Lanka395 views
Chamara has been on dialysis for 2 years and until recently drove to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center alone. After an eyesight problem, Chamara can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 30 km each way.
Chamara is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Thank you so much.
