Restoring the Unity canal: a volunteer-led project in Nha Trang
Help us clean and replant the Unity canal before the November planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world557 views
The Unity canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 60 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 42 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $250 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $70
• Waste removal and skip hire: $65
• Native saplings and stakes: $115
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Nha Trang.
Thank you. If you're in Nha Trang I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Fair thing to want to know.
projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
Good luck, Giang. Shared it with a few friends. Love from Yekaterinburg
