Restoring the Sycamore riverbank: a volunteer-led project in Sukkur
Help us clean and replant the Sycamore riverbank before the June planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world747 views
The Sycamore riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This March, 89 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 59 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $350 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $195
• Tools and protective gear: $55
• Waste removal and skip hire: $55
• Signage and educational materials: $45
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Danish
Quick update: $129 raised so far (37%). I met with the nursery and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them. - Danish
Good news. Because of your gifts ($25 in total) I made the first payment toward signage and educational materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
