Restoring the Harmony canal: a volunteer-led project in Jakarta
Volunteers are restoring the Harmony canal in Jakarta; $500 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

The Harmony canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 80 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 131 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $500 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $280
• Tools and protective gear: $80
• Waste removal and skip hire: $100
• Signage and educational materials: $40
Glad we found this place.

You're not alone, Muhammad. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Los Angeles.
thinking of you and your family, Muhammad. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
Wishing you peace. Shared it with a few friends. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
