The Harmony canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 80 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 131 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $500 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $280 • Tools and protective gear: $80 • Waste removal and skip hire: $100 • Signage and educational materials: $40 Glad we found this place. - Muhammad

  • You're not alone, Muhammad. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Los Angeles.

    • thinking of you and your family, Muhammad. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.

      • Wishing you peace. Shared it with a few friends. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
