Resettlement support for 5 people arriving in San Diego
After fleeing Sudan, the Rahimi family has arrived in San Diego with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Sudan 12 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in San Diego. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in May.
I was an electrician in Sudan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the San Diego Welcome Table charity, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $460
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $115
• Language classes and bus passes: $425
Every share and every dollar helps.

thinking of you, Sunita. Hope this works out for you. After 14 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Dallas!
