Rebuilding after the storm: Orchard village needs your help
After the storm, families in Orchard village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇳🇱 Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands1,849 views
The storm hit Orchard village on 22 May. My home was one of 19 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $5,600 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,750
• Clean water and purification supplies: $550
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $860
• Food parcels for displaced families: $690
• Tools and labor for repairs: $750
Thanks for being kind about this.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Dirk?
Praying for you, Dirk. Looking forward to the next update. Please keep us posted.
Great idea, hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
