Raghavan has been on dialysis for 5 years and until recently drove to Mumbai Regional Medical Center alone. After a foot amputation, Raghavan can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 11 km each way. Raghavan is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Wishing you the best, Mythili. I hope things turn around soon. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home!

      • Keep going, Mythili. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

        • Thinking of you and your family, Mythili. Get well soon. Take care.
