Pradeep is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a computer science degree at the Mumbai Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $550.
The registrar has said Pradeep can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Pradeep has a 3.6 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Pradeep would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Pradeep isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $550 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $220
• Final term tuition: $250
• Exam and lab fees: $30
• Textbooks and materials: $50
