Plant 3,900 native trees around the Lotus hillside in São Paulo
Help us clean and replant the Lotus hillside before the August planting window closes.
🇧🇷 São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil1,193 views
The Lotus hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This June, 90 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 100 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the district council, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $700 goes:
• Tools and protective gear: $130
• Native saplings and stakes: $350
• Waste removal and skip hire: $220
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tiago.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. tools and protective gear comes first ($130) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
Rooting for you, Tiago. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Take care.
Great idea, hope you get there. Love from Barcelona.
